‘See now that I, I am He,
And there is no god besides Me;
It is I who put to death and I who give life.
I have wounded and it is I who heal,
And there is no one who can deliver from [the power of] My hand.

“The Lord puts to death and makes alive;
He brings down to Sheol (the grave) and raises up [from the grave].

And it happened that as a man was being buried [on an open bier], they saw a marauding band [coming]; and they threw the man into Elisha’s grave. But when the [body of the] man [was being let down and] touched the bones of Elisha he revived and stood up on his feet.

But Jesus took hold of her hand and spoke, saying, “Child, arise!”

Do not be surprised at this; for a time is coming when all those who are in the tombs will hear His voice,

When He had said this, He shouted with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!”

They took the boy [Eutychus] home alive, and were greatly comforted and encouraged.

For Christ died and lived again for this reason, that He might be Lord of both the dead and the living.

But after three and a half days, the breath of life from God came into them, and they stood on their feet; and great fear and panic fell on those who were watching them.
