1 Kings 8:19

Nevertheless you shall not build the house; but your son that shall be born of your body, he shall build the house unto my name.

2 Samuel 7:5

Go and tell my servant David, Thus says the LORD, Shall you build me a house for me to dwell in?

2 Samuel 7:12-13

And when your days be fulfilled, and you shall sleep with your fathers, I will set up your offspring after you, who shall proceed out of your own body, and I will establish his kingdom.

And it shall come to pass, when your days are ended that you must go to be with your fathers, that I will raise up your descendant after you, who shall be of your sons; and I will establish his kingdom.

1 Chronicles 22:8-10

But the word of the LORD came to me, saying, You have shed blood abundantly, and have made great wars: you shall not build a house unto my name, because you have shed much blood upon the earth in my sight.

1 Kings 5:3-5
