Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.
Then he said to them, "How foolish you are and how slow to believe all that the prophets have said!
Isaiah said this because he saw his glory; it was of him that he spoke.
To this day I have had God's help and I stand here to testify to high and low alike, without adding a thing to what Moses and the prophets declared would happen,
and said, "The Son of Man must endure great suffering and be refused by the elders, the high priests, and the scribes, and be killed, and be raised to life on the third day."
Did not the Christ have to suffer thus before entering upon his glory?"
