For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.
1 Peter 3:14
But even if you should suffer for righteousness,
you are blessed. Do not fear what they fear or be disturbed,

If you are ridiculed for the name of Christ,
you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.
And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing out of the ordinary? Don’t even the Gentiles do the same?
Then they spit in His face

If the guilty party deserves to be flogged, the judge will make him lie down and be flogged in his presence with the number of lashes appropriate for his crime.
