For it stands in scripture: "Behold, I lay in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious, and he who believes in him will not be put to shame."
Why? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as if it were by works. They have stumbled over the stumbling stone,
having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone,
"Behold, my servant whom I have chosen, my beloved in whom my soul is well pleased! I will put my Spirit upon him, and he will proclaim justice to the Gentiles.
Have you not read this Scripture: 'The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone;
He who believes in me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water."
"Brethren, the scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke beforehand by the mouth of David, concerning Judas who was guide to those who arrested Jesus.
The scripture says, "No one who believes in him will be put to shame."
just as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before him. In love
All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness;
As you come to him, the living Stone rejected by men but chosen and precious in the sight of God
First of all you must understand this, that no prophecy of scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation,
He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.
