but let the hid man of the heart be uncorrupt, with a meek and a quiet spirit, which spirit is, before God, a thing much set by.

I delight in the law of God, as concerning the inner man.

For the LORD hath pleasure in his people, and helpeth the meek hearted.

But he is a Jew which is hid within, and the circumcision of the heart is the true circumcision, which is in the spirit, and not in the letter: whose praise is not of men but of God.

For thus sayeth the high and excellent, even he that dwelleth in everlastingness, whose name is the holy one: I dwell high above and in the sanctuary, and with him also, that is of a contrite and humble spirit: that I may heal a troubled mind, and a contrite heart.

This is the charge that Jeremiah gave unto Seraiah the son of Neriah, the son of Maaseiah, when he went toward Babylon with Zedekiah the king of Judah, in the fourth year of his reign. Now this Seraiah was a peaceable prince.

Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

"Tell ye the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass used to the yoke."

I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and softness of Christ, which when I am present among you, am of no reputation, but am bold toward you being absent.

Against such there is no law.

so then, as concerning the conversation in time past, lay from you that old man, which is corrupt through the deceivable lusts,

For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

Lie not one to another, that the old man with his works be put off,

Them that are such, we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that they work with quietness, and eat their own bread.

for kings, and for all that are in authority that we may live a quiet and a peaceable life, in all godliness and honesty.

and one that can suffer the evil in meekness, and can inform them that resist - if that God at any time will give them repentance for to know the truth -

Wherefore lay apart all filthiness, all superfluity of maliciousness, and receive with meekness the word that is grafted in you, which is able to save your souls:

If any man be wise and endued with learning among you, let him show the works of his good conversation in meekness that is coupled with wisdom.

for ye are born anew, not of mortal seed, but of immortal seed, by the word of God which liveth, and lasteth forever.
