Treasury of Scripture Knowledge

Use hospitality one to another without grudging.

Contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality.

Gaius, who is my host and the host of the whole church, greets you. Erastus, the treasurer of the city, greets you, and Quartus, our brother.

Now the overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach,

but hospitable, a lover of what is good, master of himself, upright, holy, and self-controlled;

Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it.

Each one must give just as he has purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Do all things without grumbling or arguing,

but without your consent I did not want to do anything, so that your goodness would not be, in effect, by compulsion but of your own free will.

Do not grumble, brethren, against one another, that you may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing at the door.
