And Samuel said to all the people, "There! See ye whom the LORD hath chosen, and how there is none like him among all the company?" And all the people shouted and said, "God save the king!"
And when they of Ashdod were up in the morning, behold, Dagon lay groveling upon the earth before the ark of the LORD. And they took Dagon and set him in his place again.
All these, being men of war able to order the array, came to Hebron with pure heart, to make David king upon all Israel. And thereto all the rest of Israel was of one accord to make David king.
