1 Samuel 7:12
Afterward, Samuel took a stone and set it upright
between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, explaining, “The Lord has helped us to this point.”
The Israelites did just as Joshua had commanded them. The 12 men took stones from the middle of the Jordan, one for each
of the Israelite tribes, just as the Lord had told Joshua. They carried them to the camp and set them down there.
2 Samuel 18:18
When he was alive, Absalom had set up a pillar
for himself in the King’s Valley, for he had said, “I have no son to preserve the memory of my name.” So he gave the pillar his name. It is still called Absalom’s Monument today.
