The LORD kills, and he gives life; he brings down to Sheol and raises up.

See now that I, I am he, and there are no gods with me; I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal; and there is not one that can deliver out of my hand.

And when the king of Israel read the letter, he rent his clothes and said, Am I God, to kill and to give life, that this man sends unto me to remove the leprosy of this man? Therefore now consider and see how he seeks a quarrel against me.

Thy dead shall live, and together with my body they shall arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the covering of light, and the earth shall cast out the dead.

and he that lives and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen, and have the keys of Hades and of death.

And David swore moreover, and said, Thy father certainly knows that I have found grace in thine eyes, and he saith in himself, Let Jonathan not know this lest he be grieved; but truly as the LORD lives and as thy soul lives, there is but a step between me and death.

For he makes sore, and binds up; he wounds, and his hands make whole.

He that is our God is the God of salvation, and unto GOD the Lord belongs the way of escape from death.

The sorrows of death compassed me and the pains of Sheol found me; I encountered trouble and sorrow.

Come, and let us return unto the LORD; for he has torn, and he will heal us; he has smitten, and he will bind us up.

and said, I cried by reason of my tribulation unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of Sheol I cried, and thou didst hear my voice.

for as Jonah was three days and three nights in the whale's belly, so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour shall come, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God, and they that hear shall live.

Jesus said unto her, I AM the resurrection and the life; he that believes in me, though he is dead, yet shall he live;

But we had the sentence of death in ourselves that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead;
