Treasury of Scripture Knowledge

As saith the proverb of the ancients, Wickedness proceedeth from the wicked: but mine hand shall not be upon thee.

Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns? Or figs of thistles?

Either make the tree good, and his fruit good also, or else make the tree evil, and his fruit evil also. For the tree is known by his fruit.

For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, breaking of wedlock, whoredom, theft, false witness-bearing, blasphemy.

For his travail shall come upon his own head, and his wickedness shall fall upon his own head, and his wickedness shall fall on his own pate.

Let perfectness and righteous dealing wait upon me, for my hope hath been in thee.

But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile the man.
