(Now David had said, Surely in vain have I kept all that this man hath in the wilderness, so that nothing was missed of all that pertained to him: and he hath requited me evil for good.

But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This man doth not cast out demons, but by Beelzebub the prince of the demons.

And they began to accuse him, saying, We found this man perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Cesar, saying, that he himself is Christ a king.

And they gave him audience to this word, and then lifted up their voices, and said, Away with such a man from the earth: for it is not fit that he should live.

Bread of affliction

Thou feedest them with the bread of tears; and givest them tears to drink in great measure.

For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping,

And though the Lord shall give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thy eyes shall see thy teachers:

And it should come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he should bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of my heart, to add drunkenness to thirst:

His ways are always grievous; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them.

A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.

For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
