Jehoiada's Reforms

¹⁶ And Jehoiada made a bond between him and all the people and the king, to be the LORD's people. ¹⁷ And all the people went to the house of Baal and destroyed it, and brake his altars and his images, and slew Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars. ¹⁸ And Jehoiada put the offices of the house of the LORD in the hands of the priests the Levites, which David had divided in companies for the house of the LORD, to offer burnt offerings unto the LORD, as it is written in the law of Moses, with rejoicing and singing as it was ordained by David.
