The Reign Of Amaziah

² And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, but not with a perfect heart. ³ Now it came about as soon as the kingdom was firmly in his grasp, that he killed his servants who had slain his father the king. ⁴ But he slew not their children, but did as it is written in the law in the book of Moses where the LORD commanded, saying, The fathers shall not die for the children, neither shall the children die for the fathers, but each one shall die for his own sin.

Genesis 9:5-6

For surely your blood which is your souls I will require; at the hand of every animal I will require it and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man's brother I will require the soul (or life) of man.

Exodus 21:14

But if a man comes presumptuously upon his neighbour to slay him with prudence, thou shalt take him from my altar that he may die.

Numbers 35:31-33

Moreover ye shall take no ransom for the life of a murderer who is guilty of death, but he shall be surely put to death.

And as soon as the kingdom was confirmed in his hand, he slew his slaves which had slain the king, his father.

2 Chronicles 24:25-26

And when they were departed from him (for they left him in great diseases), his own slaves conspired against him for the blood of the sons of Jehoiada, the priest, and slew him on his bed, and he died; and they buried him in the city of David, but they did not bury him in the sepulchres of the kings.
