And now you are planning to enslave the people of Judah and Jerusalem. Yet are you not also guilty before the Lord your God?

"'If your brother becomes impoverished with regard to you so that he sells himself to you, you must not subject him to slave service.

For take note, I am already beginning to bring disaster on the city that I call my own. So how can you possibly avoid being punished? You will not go unpunished! For I am proclaiming war against all who live on the earth. I, the Lord who rules over all, affirm it!'

For by the standard you judge you will be judged, and the measure you use will be the measure you receive.

Rather, if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing this you will be heaping burning coals on his head.

For it is time for judgment to begin, starting with the house of God. And if it starts with us, what will be the fate of those who are disobedient to the gospel of God?

The lord

The Lord his God handed him over to the king of Syria. The Syrians defeated him and deported many captives to Damascus. He was also handed over to the king of Israel, who thoroughly defeated him.
