And in the time of his distress did he trespass yet more against the LORD: this is that king Ahaz.

When he experienced distress, he begged Jehovah his God to be kind and humbled himself in front of the God of his ancestors.

Call on me in times of trouble. I will rescue you, and you will honor me.

Why do you still want to be beaten? Why do you continue to rebel? Your whole head is infected. Your whole heart is sick.

For there is testing. And what if even the rod that despises will be no more? Declares the Lord Jehovah.

I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence, and seek me. They will seek me earnestly in their affliction.

Men were scorched with great heat. They blasphemed the name of God, who has power over these plagues. They did not repent and give him glory.

Though you grind a fool in mortar his foolishness will not depart from him.

Son of man, say to her: 'You are a land that is not cleansed or rained on in the day of indignation (outrage) (revulsion).
