Spake

Have ye not known what I and my fathers have done unto all the people of other lands? Could peradventure the gods of the Gentiles of those lands deliver their lands out of my hand?

Whether it was a lion or a bear thy slave would kill it, and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he has dishonoured the armies of the living God.

Because he extended his hand against God and strengthens himself against the Almighty,

In what does the wicked irritate God? He has said in his heart, Thou wilt not require accountability.

They are lawless and speak wickedly of doing violence; they speak loftily.

Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God; depart from me therefore, ye bloodthirsty men.

The god

But I have chosen Jerusalem that my name might be there and have chosen David to be over my people Israel.

In Judah is God known; his name is great in Israel.

But chose the tribe of Judah, the Mount Zion which he loved.

His foundation is in mountains of holiness.

For the LORD has chosen Zion; he has desired her for his habitation.

What shall one then answer the messengers of the Gentiles? That the LORD has founded Zion, and in her the afflicted of his people shall have confidence.

And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men's hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.

Cursed is the man that makes any graven or molten image, an abomination unto the LORD, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and puts it in a secret place. And all the people shall answer and say, Amen.

The idols of the Gentiles are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.
