2 Chronicles 35:15

The following musicians of the Levite clan of Asaph were in the places assigned to them by King David's instructions: Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun, the king's prophet. The guards at the Temple gates did not need to leave their posts, because the other Levites prepared the Passover for them.

These divisions of the gatekeepers, through their chief men, had duties for ministering in the Temple of Jehovah, just as their relatives had.

With Zadok and his relatives were Heman, Jeduthun, and the rest of the Levites who had been selected. They were chosen by name, to give thanks to Jehovah by singing, because His mercy endures forever.

1 Chronicles 23:5

Four thousand are to be gatekeepers and four thousand are to praise Jehovah with musical instruments I have provided for that purpose.

2 Chronicles 29:25-26

The king followed the instructions Jehovah gave to King David through Gad, the king's prophet, and through the prophet Nathan. He stationed Levites in the Temple, with harps and cymbals,

Psalm 77:1

([Psalm of Asaph]) My cry goes to God! Indeed, I cry to God for help, and he listened to me.

Psalm 78:1

([Psalm of Asaph]) Listen, O my people, to my law. Incline your ears to the words of my mouth.

Psalm 79:1

([Psalm of Asaph]) O God, the nations have invaded the land that belongs to you. They have dishonored (defiled) your holy temple. They have left Jerusalem in ruins.
