The wicked man borrows and does not repay,
but the righteous one is gracious and giving.

Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Try to do what is honorable in everyone’s eyes.

Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable—if there is any moral excellence and if there is any praise—dwell on these things.

For you remember our labor and hardship, brothers. Working night and day so that we would not burden any of you, we preached God’s gospel to you.

so that you may walk properly

in the presence of outsiders and not be dependent on anyone.

For you yourselves know how you must imitate us: We were not irresponsible among you;
