And when his relations heard it, they went out to restrain him, for they said, He is transported beyond all bounds.

Then many of them said, He hath a devil, and is mad; why hearken to him?

Then certain of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers attacked him: and some said, What will this chattering fellow say? but others, He seemeth to be a preacher of foreign deities, because he preached to them Jesus and the resurrection.

As thus he was proceeding in his defence, Festus with a loud voice said, Paul, thou art raving; much reading hath driven thee to madness.

We are counted fools for Christ's sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are mighty; ye are honourable persons, but we despised.

For if we are transported out of ourselves, it is for God; or if we are sober-minded, it is for your sake.
