This is now the second letter that I have written to you, beloved, and in both of them I have aroused your sincere mind by way of reminder;
I warned those who sinned in the past and all the others, and I warn them now while absent, as I did when present the second time, that if I come again I will not spare them
Do not be hasty in the laying on of hands, and do not share in the sins of others; keep yourself pure.
For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.
Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the chosen exiles in the Dispersion, scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia,
Since you have purified your souls by obedience to the truth for a sincere love of the brethren, love one another earnestly from the heart.
Therefore I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth you now have.
