Whence the old world being drowned in water perished.

(but preserved Noah an eighth person, a preacher of righteousness,) bringing a deluge upon the world of the ungodly;

for as in the days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, till the day that Noah entered into the ark,

They were eating, drinking, marrying, and being married, till the day that Noah went into the ark: and the flood came and destroyed them all.
