And it was told David, saying, Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom. And David said, O LORD, I pray thee, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness.

And the counsel of Ahithophel, which he gave in those days, was as if a man inquired at the oracle of God; so was all the counsel of Ahithophel both with David and with Absalom.

And Absalom and all the men of Israel said, The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of Ahithophel. For LORD had ordained to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, to the intent that LORD might bring evil upon A

And when Ahithophel saw that his counsel was not followed, he saddled his donkey, and arose, and got home to his city, and set his house in order, and hanged himself. And he died, and was buried in the sepulcher of his father.

And Absalom sent for Ahithophel the Gilonite, David's counselor, from his city, even from Giloh, while he was offering the sacrifices. And the conspiracy was strong, for the people increased continually with Absalom.

With him is strength and wisdom. The deceived and the deceiver are his.

LORD, how my adversaries are increased! Many are those who rise up against me.

He frustrates the devices of the crafty so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise.

Yea, my own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, who ate of my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.

For it was not an enemy who reproached me. Then I could have borne it. Neither was it he who hated me that magnified himself against me. Then I would have hid myself from him.

We took sweet counsel together. We walked in the house of God with the throng.

They have also encompassed me about with words of hatred, and fought against me without a cause.

And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst of it, and I will destroy the counsel of it. And they shall seek for the idols, and for the charmers, and for those who have familiar spirits, and for the wizards.

The rulers of Zoan are utterly foolish. The counsel of the wisest counselors of Pharaoh has become brutish. How will ye say to Pharaoh, I am the son of wise men, the son of ancient kings?

How can ye say, We are wise, and the law of LORD is with us? But, behold, the FALSE pen of the scribes has wrought falsely.

Then one of the twelve, who was called Judas Iscariot, having gone to the chief priests,

I speak not about you all. I have seen whom I chose, but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He who eats bread with me lifted up his heel against me.

Where is a wise man? Where is a scholar? Where is a researcher of this age? Did not God make foolish the wisdom of this world?

Let not one man deceive himself. If any man among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become foolish so that he may become wise.

This wisdom is not descending from above, but is earthly, world-soul, demonic.
