Be not then ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner; but endure hardship with me for the gospel through the power of God,

For I myself will show him how great things he must suffer for my names sake.

proclaiming the kingdom of God, and teaching the things concerning the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, without hindrance from any one.

and for me, that utterance may be given me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel,

Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run and be glorified, as with you,

even as it is right for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, all of you being sharers of the grace bestowed on me.

praying at the same time for us also, that God may open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for the sake of which I am also in bonds;
