And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
Being assembled together
not to all the people, but to witnesses who were previously chosen by God, to us, who ate and drank with him after he arose from the dead.
And while they still disbelieved from joy and wondering, he said to them, Have ye anything to eat here?
And behold, I send forth the promise of my Father upon you. But stay ye in the city until ye are clothed with power from on high.
Therefore, exalted by the right hand of God, and having received the promise of the Holy Spirit from the Father, he poured out this that ye now see and hear.
For ye are not who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking in you.

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another helper, so that he may dwell with you into the age,
But when the helper comes whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth that proceeds from the Father, he will testify about me.
Nevertheless I tell you the truth, it is expedient for you that I depart, for if I do not depart, the helper will not come to you. But whenever I go, I will send him to you.
And after saying this, he breathed on them, and says to them, Receive ye Holy Spirit.
