And Cornelius said, "This day now four days I fasted, and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,

"Moreover, when ye fast, be not sad as the hypocrites are: for they disfigure their faces, that they might be seen of men how they fast. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward.

The work

The Lord said unto him, "Go thy ways: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the gentiles, and kings and the children of Israel:

and thence departed by ship to Antioch, from whence they were delivered unto the grace of God, to the work which they had fulfilled.

Wherefore, pray the Lord of the harvest to send forth laborers into his harvest."

After these things, the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them, two and two, before him into every city, and place, whither he himself would come.

whereof I am made a minister, by the gift of the grace of God given unto me, through the working of his power.

whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle - I tell the truth in Christ and lie not - being the teacher of the gentiles in faith and verity.
