As they were leaving the synagogue, the people kept begging that all this be repeated to them the next sabbath,

So they accepted his message and were baptized, and about three thousand persons united with them on that day.

So there was great rejoicing in that city.

When they had read it, they were delighted with the encouragement it brought them.

But the angel said to them: "Stop being afraid, for now I bring you good tidings of great joy which is to be for all the people;

and for the heathen peoples to praise God for His mercy, as the Scripture says: "For this I will give thanks to you among the heathen, and will sing praises to your name."

Glorified

Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the message of the Lord may continue to spread and prove its glorious power as it did among you,

And as

constantly praising God and always having the favor of all the people. And every day the Lord continued to add to them the people who were being saved.

I have other sheep too that do not belong to this fold. I must lead them too, and they will listen to my voice, and all my sheep will become one flock with one shepherd.

and not only for the nation, but also to unite the scattered children of God.

and those whom He marked off as His own He also calls; and those whom He calls He brings into right standing with Himself; those whom He brings into right standing with Himself He also glorifies.

What are we then to conclude? Israel has failed to obtain what it is still in search for, but His chosen ones have obtained it. The rest have become insensible to it,

and how surpassingly great is His power for us who believe, measured by His tremendously mighty power

has made us, though dead because of our shortcomings, live again in fellowship with Christ -- it is by His unmerited favor that you have been saved.

We ought always to be thanking God for you, brothers dearly loved by the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning for salvation through the Spirit's consecration of you and through your faith in the truth,
