Simeon gave them his blessing, and said to Mary, the child's mother: "This child is appointed to be the cause of the fall and rise of many in Israel, and to be a sign much spoken against--

When a strong man is keeping guard, fully armed, over his own mansion, his property is in safety;

Do you think that I am here to give peace on earth? No, I tell you, but to cause division.

So there was a sharp division among the people on account of Jesus.

But, when the Apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of it, they tore their clothes and rushed out into the crowd. "Friends, why are you doing this?" they shouted.

Have not we a right to take a wife with us, if she is a Christian, as the other Apostles and the Master's brothers and Kephas all do?
