Yet because of false brothers secretly brought in--who slipped in to spy out our freedom that we have in Christ Jesus, so that they might bring us into slavery--

The brethren

with the following letter: "The brothers, both the apostles and the elders, to the brothers who are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia, greetings.

Except

But some believers who belonged to the party of the Pharisees rose up and said, "It is necessary to circumcise them and to order them to keep the law of Moses."

blessed is the man against whom the Lord will not count his sin."

For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.

Look out for the dogs, look out for the evildoers, look out for those who mutilate the flesh.

See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.

After

This is my covenant, which you shall keep, between me and you and your offspring after you: Every male among you shall be circumcised.

And on the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.

Moses gave you circumcision (not that it is from Moses, but from the fathers), and you circumcise a man on the Sabbath.

Ye

Since we have heard that some persons have gone out from us and troubled you with words, unsettling your minds, although we gave them no instructions,

Was anyone at the time of his call already circumcised? Let him not seek to remove the marks of circumcision. Was anyone at the time of his call uncircumcised? Let him not seek circumcision.

Then after fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, taking Titus along with me.

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love.

For even those who are circumcised do not themselves keep the law, but they desire to have you circumcised that they may boast in your flesh.
