and have transformed the splendor of the immortal God into images in the form of mortal man, birds, beasts, and reptiles.

For even if there are so-called gods in heaven or on earth -- as there are, indeed, a vast number of gods and lords --

the one who keeps up his opposition and so far exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, that he actually takes his seat in the sanctuary of God, proclaiming himself to be God.

Forever since the creation of the world, His invisible characteristics -- His eternal power and divine nature -- have been made intelligible and clearly visible by His works. So they are without excuse,

At that time you were without any connection with Christ; you were aliens to the commonwealth of Israel, strangers to the sacred compacts made by God's promise, with no hope, and no God in the world.

To the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever! Amen.

And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us insight to recognize the True One; and we are in union with the True One through His Son, Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

Ignorantly

Though God overlooked those times of ignorance, He now commands all men everywhere to repent,

Their worship of me is an empty show; the things they teach are only men's precepts.'"

You Samaritans do not know what you are worshiping; we Jews do know what we are worshiping; for salvation comes from the Jews.

Jesus answered, "If I glorify myself, such glory amounts to nothing. It is the Father who glorifies me; and you claim that He is your God.
