Barnabas, however, took him up and presented him to the apostles, and he told them how on the road he had seen the Lord, and how the Lord had spoken to him, and how courageously he had spoken in the name of Jesus at Damascus.

Now I introduce to you our sister Phoebe, who is a deaconess in the church at Cenchreae,

When I get there, I will send on, with credentials, the persons whom you approve, to carry your gift of charity to Jerusalem.

Am I beginning to recommend myself again? I do not, like some people, do I, need letters of recommendation to you or from you?

Exhorting

Aristarchus, my fellow-prisoner, wishes to be remembered to you; and so does Mark, the cousin of Barnabas; if he comes to see you, give him a hearty welcome.

So we ought to show hospitality to such men, to prove that we cooperate with them for the truth.

Helped

I did the planting, Apollos did the watering, but it was God who kept the plants growing.

Not that we are trying to lord it over your faith, but we are workers with you to promote your joy, for in your faith you are standing firm.

Now since I am certain of this, I know that I shall stay on and stay by you all to promote the progress of your faith

But to all who did accept Him, and trust in His name, He gave the right to become the children of God,

through whom we have received God's favor and a commission as an apostle in His name to urge upon all the heathen obedience inspired by faith,

But by God's unmerited favor I have become what I am, and His unmerited favor shown to me was not bestowed for nothing, for I have toiled more extensively than any of them, and yet it was not I but God's unmerited favor working with me.

For it is by His unmerited favor through faith that you have been saved; it is not by anything that you have done, it is the gift of God.

For it has been graciously granted to you for Christ's sake, not only to trust in Him but also to suffer for Him,

for you were buried with Him in baptism and raised to life with Him through your faith in the power of God who raised Him from the dead.

We ought always to be thanking God for you, brothers dearly loved by the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning for salvation through the Spirit's consecration of you and through your faith in the truth,

But when the goodness and lovingkindness of God our Saviour were brought to light,

You must avoid being misled, my dearly loved brothers.

the people chosen in accordance with the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the consecration of the Spirit, to obey Jesus Christ and to be sprinkled with His blood: spiritual blessing and peace to you in increasing abundance.
