For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

saying, What think ye of the Messiah, whose son is he? They say unto him, David's.

for David himself saith by the Spirit, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thy enemies the foot-stool for thy feet.

Yet David himself, in the book of Psalms, saith, "The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit down at my right hand,

For he must reign, until he hath put all enemies under his feet.

and hath put all things under his feet, and hath appointed him head over all to the church,

Unto which indeed of the angels said he ever, "Sit at my right hand until I put thine enemies for a footstool of thy feet?"

this was the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes."

but this person, having offered one sacrifice for sins, for ever hath seated himself at the right hand of God;
