But follow not their minds: for there lie in wait for him of them, more than forty men, which have bound themselves with a vow, that they will neither eat nor drink till they have killed him. And now are they ready, and look for thy promise."

Afterward, when it was showed me how that the Jews laid wait for the man, I sent him straightway to thee: and gave commandment to his accusers, if they had ought against him, to tell it unto thee. Farewell."

And they came to the chief priest and elders, and said, "We have bound ourselves with a vow, that we will eat nothing until we have slain Paul.

No dedicated thing therefore that is dedicated of man, may be redeemed, but must needs die.

And Joshua cursed at that time, saying, "Cursed be the man before the LORD, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho: so that he lay the foundation with the death of his eldest son, and with the death of his youngest set up the gates."

But yet the children of Israel trespassed in the excommunicate things: for Achan the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah of the tribe of Judah, took of the excommunicate things. And the wrath of the LORD waxed hot against the children of Israel.

And he that is found in the excommunication shall be burnt with fire, both he and all that pertaineth unto him, because he hath transgressed the covenant of the LORD, and because he hath wrought folly in Israel.'"

And the men of Israel joined themselves together that day: and Saul adjured the people, saying, "Cursed be he that eateth any food until night, that I may be avenged of mine enemies." And so there was none of the people that tasted any sustenance.

W hy did the heathen rage and the people imagine vain things?

For I have heard the blasphemy of the multitude, and fear is on every side, while they conspire together against me, and take their counsel to take away my life.

Hide me from the gathering together of the froward, and from the insurrection of wicked doers,

Go together ye people, and gather you, hearken to all ye of far countries. Muster you, and you shall be broken down: prepare you to battle and you shall be torn in pieces.

But I, as a meek lamb, was carried away to be slain: not knowing, that they had devised such a counsel against me saying, "We will destroy his meat with wood, and drive him out of the land of the living: that his name shall never be thought upon."

and held a counsel, how they might take Jesus by subtlety, and kill him.

Then began he to curse and to swear, that he knew not the man. And immediately the cock crew.

Then answered all the people, and said, "His blood be on us, and on our children."

And he sware unto her, "Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, even unto the one half of my kingdom."

If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, the same be anathema. Maranatha.

But Christ hath delivered us from the curse of the law, and was made accursed for us - for it is written, "Cursed is everyone that hangeth on tree" -
