He read the letter and asked Paul what province he was from, and on learning that he was from Cilicia,

Paul answered, "I am a Jew from Tarsus, in Cilicia, a citizen of no insignificant city. Please let me speak to the people."

Now three days after his arrival Festus went up from Caesarea to Jerusalem,

When Pilate heard this, He asked if the man were a Galilean.
