But Festus, willing to do the Jews a pleasure, answered Paul, and said, Wilt thou go up to Jerusalem, and there be judged of these things before me?

asking it as a favor against him, that he would send for him to Jerusalem, making an ambush, to kill him on the way.

and, seeing that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to seize Peter also. And then were the days of unleavened bread.

But, when two years were completed, Felix received a successor, Porcius Festus; and, wishing to gain favor with the Jews, Felix left Paul bound.

And Pilate, wishing to satisfy the multitude, released to them Barabbas, and delivered up Jesus, after having scourged Him, to be crucified.

And at the feast the governor was accustomed to release to the multitude one prisoner, whom they desired;

Now at the feast he was wont to release to them one prisoner, whom they asked of him.
