“But I said, ‘Lord, they know that in synagogue after synagogue I had those who believed in You imprisoned and beaten.

Because people will hand you over to sanhedrins and flog you in their synagogues, beware of them.

“But you, be on your guard! They will hand you over to sanhedrins,

and you will be flogged in the synagogues. You will stand before governors and kings because of Me, as a witness to them.

But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you. They will hand you over to the synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors because of My name.

Compelled

But when the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy and began to oppose what Paul was saying by insulting him.

But when they resisted and blasphemed, he shook his robe

and told them, “Your blood is on your own heads! I am innocent. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.”

I assure you: People will be forgiven for all sins and whatever blasphemies they may blaspheme.

If anyone disregards Moses’ law, he dies without mercy, based on the testimony of two or three witnesses.

Don’t they blaspheme the noble name that was pronounced over you at your baptism?
