Brethren and fathers, hear my defence, which I now make to you.

And when they heard of a resurrection of the dead, some mocked; but ethers said, We will hear thee again about this matter.

And as he discoursed of righteousness, and temperance, and the judgment to come, Felix became alarmed, and answered, Go thy way for the present; and when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.

but had against him certain questions of their own religion, and of one Jesus that was dead, whom Paul affirmed to be alive.

And I punished them often in all the synagogues, and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly mad against them, I pursued them even to foreign cities.

And his relations hearing of it went out to lay hold of him; for they said, He is beside himself.

The Jews answered and said to him, Say we not well, that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a demon?

Many of them said, He hath a demon, and is mad; why do ye hear him?

but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumblingblock, and to gentiles foolishness,

which things we also speak, not in words taught by mans wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, connecting what is spiritual l with what is spiritual.

We are fools for Christs sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are in honor, but we are despised.

For whether we were beside ourselves, it was for God; or whether we are in our sound mind, it is for you.
