When these events were over, Paul resolved in the Spirit to pass through Macedonia and Achaia and go to Jerusalem. “After I’ve been there,” he said, “I must see Rome as well!”

The following night, the Lord stood by him and said, “Have courage! For as you have testified about Me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome.”

After Festus conferred with his council, he replied, “You have appealed to Caesar; to Caesar you will go!”

You planned evil against me; God planned it for good to bring about the present result—the survival of many people.

The counsel of the Lord stands forever,

Even human wrath will praise You;
You will clothe Yourself
with their remaining wrath.

Many plans are in a man’s heart,

There was a man in Caesarea named Cornelius, a centurion of what was called the Italian Regiment.

where he found a Jewish man named Aquila, a native of Pontus, who had recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla because Claudius had ordered all the Jews to leave Rome. Paul came to them,

Greet all your leaders and all the saints. Those who are from Italy greet you.
