Acts 27:29
Fearing they would be cast ashore on rocky ground they dropped four anchors from the stern and prayed for daylight.
Acts 27:17
They pulled it aboard and then fastened some ropes tight around the ship. They were afraid that they might run into the sandbanks (quicksand) off the coast of Libya, so they lowered the sail and allowed the ship be carried by the wind.

They threw the anchors overboard and left them in the sea. At the same time they untied the ropes that held the rudders. Then they hoisted the foresail to the wind and made for the beach.
