But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;

And there was one called Barabbas, bound with the insurgents, who, in the insurrection, had committed murder.

this was from the Lord, and is marvelous in our eyes?"

But the high priests stirred up the multitude, that he should rather release to them Barabbas.

But his citizens were hating him, and sent an embassy after him, saying, 'We do not wish this man to be king over us.'

and how the high priests and our rulers delivered Him up to the sentence of death, and crucified Him.

respecting sin, because they believe not on Me;

They cried out, therefore, again, saying, "Not this Man, but Barabbas!" Now Barabbas was a robber.

and, though finding not one cause of death, they asked of Pilate that He should be slain.
