You are Peter (Greek: petros: piece of rock), and on this rock-mass (Greek: petra: mass of rock) (referring to Jesus) I will build my congregation. The entrance to the grave (Greek: Hades) will not have power to stop it.

I will give you ability to talk and words of wisdom, which your adversaries shall not be able to resist or refute.

For the foolishness of God is wiser than men and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

The ten horns that you saw are ten kings. They have not yet received a kingdom. But they receive power (authority) (influence) as kings for one hour with the beast.

To fight

You obstinate men who are uncircumcised in heart and ears. You always resist the Holy Spirit as your fathers did.

Who are you Lord? He asked. The Lord said: I am Jesus whom you persecute.

There arose a great cry. The scribes who were on the Pharisees' side arose and spoke, We find no evil in this man. But if a spirit or an angel has spoken to him, let us not fight against God.

Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said to him: Thus says Jehovah, the God of the Hebrews, 'How long will you refuse to humble yourself before me? Let my people go, that they may serve me.

Whom are you defying and slandering? Against whom are you shouting? Who are you looking at so arrogantly? It is the Holy One of Israel!

He shakes his fist at God and vaunts (brags) (shows off) himself against the Almighty,

Do you have an arm (power) like God's? Can your voice thunder like his?

Does a clay pot dare argue with its maker, a pot that is like all the others? Does the clay ask the potter what he is doing? Does the pot complain that its maker has no skill?

Do we provoke Jehovah to rivalry (indignation) (anger)? Are we stronger than he?
