Treasury of Scripture Knowledge

And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.

All who lived at Lydda on the Plain of Sharon saw him and turned to the Lord.

The hand (Spirit) of God was with them. A great number believed, and turned to the Lord.

This became known to all both Jews and Greeks, who lived at Ephesus. They were all afraid. The name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.

When Jesus heard it he said: This sickness will not end in death. It is for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified by it.

This is because by reason of Lazarus many of the Jews believed in Jesus.
