Then the king promoted Daniel and gave him many generous gifts. He made him ruler over the entire province of Babylon and chief governor over all the wise men of Babylon.

However, I have heard about you that you can give interpretations and solve problems. Therefore, if you can read this inscription and give me its interpretation, you will be clothed in purple, have a gold chain around your neck, and have the third highest position in the kingdom.”

“Therefore, this is the declaration of the Lord, the God of Israel:

‘Although I said
your family and your ancestral house
would walk before Me forever,
the Lord now says, “No longer!”
I will honor those who honor Me,
but those who despise Me will be disgraced.

Long life is in her right hand;
in her left, riches and honor.

For this reason, the kingdom of heaven can be compared to a king who wanted to settle accounts with his slaves.

So he called the manager in and asked, ‘What is this I hear about you? Give an account of your management, because you can no longer be my manager.’

See that you not neglect this matter. Otherwise, the damage will increase and the royal interests will suffer.

For my people and I have been sold out to destruction, death, and extermination. If we had merely been sold as male and female slaves, I would have kept silent. Indeed, the trouble wouldn’t be worth burdening the king.”

The one who sends a message by a fool’s hand
cuts off his own feet and drinks violence.

He called 10 of his slaves, gave them 10 minas, and told them, ‘Engage in business until I come back.’

In this regard, it is expected of managers that each one of them be found faithful.
