Detailed Stipulations: Purity And Unity

² You shall utterly destroy all the places, in which the nations which you shall possess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree: ³ And you shall overthrow their altars, and break their stone idols, and burn their idol poles with fire; and you shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place. ⁴ You shall not do so unto the LORD your God.

Numbers 33:52
