6 "Any descendant of Levi who wishes to do so may come from any city or part of Israel where he resides to the place that the LORD will choose.

7 Then he shall minister in the name of the LORD his God, as all his brethren the Levites do, which stand there before the LORD.
7 then he shall serve in the name of the Lord his God, like all his fellow Levites who stand there before the Lord.

Occult Practices Versus Prophetic Revelation
9 When you come to the land which Jehovah your God gives you, you shall not learn to do according to the abominations of those nations.
9 When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.
9 “When you enter the land which the Lord your God gives you, you shall not learn to (h)(I)imitate the detestable things of those nations.
9 “When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not imitate the detestable customs of those nations.
9 "When you enter the land that the LORD your God is about to give you, don't learn the detestable practices of those nations there.
10 There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that uses divination, an observer of clouds, or a fortune-teller, or a witch,
10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
10 There shall not be found among you anyone (J)who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one (K)who practices witchcraft, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer,
10 No one among you is to make his son or daughter pass through the fire,(e)(C) practice divination, tell fortunes, interpret omens, practice sorcery,
10 There must never be found among you anyone who sacrifices his son or daughter in fire, practices divination, interprets omens, practices sorcery,
12 For all that do these things are an abomination to Jehovah. And because of these abominations Jehovah your God drives them out from before you.
12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.
12 For whoever does these things is detestable to the Lord; and (M)because of these detestable things the Lord your God will drive them out before you.
12 Everyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord, and the Lord your God is driving out the nations before you because of these detestable things.
12 Whoever practices these things is detestable to the LORD, and the LORD your God will expel them before you because of these things.
The Promise To Send A Prophet
14 For these nations whom you shall possess listened to observers of clouds and to diviners. But as for you, Jehovah your God has not allowed you to do so.
14 For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.
14 For those nations, which you shall dispossess, listen to those who (O)practice witchcraft and to diviners, but as for you, the Lord your God has not allowed you to do so.
14 Though these nations you are about to drive out listen to fortune-tellers and diviners, the Lord your God has not permitted you to do this.
14 because those nations that you are about to dispossess listen to those who practice witchcraft and divination. But the LORD does not allow you to act this way."
A New Prophet Like Moses
15 Jehovah your God will raise up to you a Prophet from the midst of you, of your brothers, One like me. To Him you shall listen,
15 The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;
15 “(P)The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your (j)countrymen, you shall listen to him.
15 “The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own brothers.(E) You must listen to him.
15 "The LORD your God will raise up a prophet like me for you from among your relatives. You must listen to him,
16 according to all that you desired of Jehovah your God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying: Let me not hear again the voice of Jehovah my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, so that I do not die.
16 According to all that thou desiredst of the LORD thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not.
16 This is (Q)according to all that you asked of the Lord your God in Horeb on the day of the assembly, saying, ‘Let me not hear again the voice of the Lord my God, let me not see this great fire anymore, or I will die.’
16 This is what you requested from the Lord your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly when you said, ‘Let us not continue to hear the voice of the Lord our God or see this great fire any longer, so that we will not die!’(F)
16 because this is what you asked from the LORD your God at Horeb when you were assembled together: "Don't let us hear the voice of the LORD our God again, or even see this great fire otherwise, we will die.'
18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brothers, one like you, and will put My words in His mouth. And He shall speak to them all that I shall command Him.
18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
18 I will raise up a prophet from among their (l)countrymen like you, and (S)I will put My words in his mouth, and (T)he shall speak to them all that I command him.
18 I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. I will put My words in his mouth, and he will tell them everything I command him.
18 I will raise up a prophet like you from among their relatives, and I will place my words in his mouth so that he may expound everything that I have commanded to them.
19 And it shall happen, whatever man will not listen to My Words which He shall speak in My name, I will require it of him.
19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.
19 (U)It shall come about that whoever will not listen to My words which he shall speak in My name, I Myself will require it of him.
19 But if someone will not listen to those words that the prophet speaks in my name, I will hold him accountable.
20 But the prophet who shall presume to speak a word in My name which I have not commanded him to speak or who shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.
20 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.
20 But the prophet who speaks a word (V)presumptuously in My name which I have not commanded him to speak, or (W)which he speaks in the name of other gods, (m)that prophet shall die.’
20 But the prophet who dares to speak a message in My name that I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods—that prophet must die.’
20 Even then, if the prophet speaks presumptuously in my name, which I didn't authorize him to speak, or if he speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet must die.'
21 And if you say in your heart, How shall we know the word which Jehovah has not spoken?
21 And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken?
21 You may say to yourself, ‘How can we recognize a message the Lord has not spoken?’
21 Now you may ask yourselves, "How will we be able to discern that the LORD has not spoken?'
22 When a prophet speaks in the name of Jehovah, if the thing does not follow nor come to pass, that is the thing which Jehovah has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You shall not be afraid of him.
22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.
22 (X)When a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing does not come about or come true, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it (Y)presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him.
22 When a prophet speaks in the Lord’s name, and the message does not come true or is not fulfilled, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him.
22 Whenever a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD and the oracle does not come about or the word is not fulfilled, then the LORD has not spoken it. The prophet will have spoken presumptuously, so you need not fear him."
