I assigned Gilead to the clan of Machir of the tribe of Manasseh.

Numbers 32:39-40

The descendants of Machir son of Manasseh went to Gilead. They captured it and forced out the Amorites who were there.

Genesis 50:23

Joseph lived long enough to see Ephraim's children and grandchildren. He also lived to see the children of Manasseh's son Machir. He welcomed them into his family.
