Even with me the LORD was angry on your account and said, 'You also shall not go in there.

And he said to them, "I am 120 years old today. I am no longer able to go out and come in. The LORD has said to me, 'You shall not go over this Jordan.'

because you broke faith with me in the midst of the people of Israel at the waters of Meribah-kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin, and because you did not treat me as holy in the midst of the people of Israel.

And the LORD said to him, "This is the land of which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, 'I will give it to your offspring.'I have let you see it with your eyes, but you shall not go over there."

and the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

The LORD said to Moses, "Go up into this mountain of Abarim and see the land that I have given to the people of Israel.

They angered him at the waters of Meribah, and it went ill with Moses on their account,

But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed.

And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, saying, "My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will."

"Go and tell my servant David, 'Thus says the LORD: It is not you who will build me a house to dwell in.

David said to Solomon, "My son, I had it in my heart to build a house to the name of the LORD my God.

Then King David rose to his feet and said: "Hear me, my brothers and my people. I had it in my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the LORD and for the footstool of our God, and I made preparations for building.

Jesus answered, "You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I am to drink?" They said to him, "We are able."

Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me.
