Historical Prologue

⁸ Sihon and Og ruled Amorite kingdoms east of the Jordan River. Their land stretched from the Arnon River Gorge in the south to Mount Hermon in the north. We captured it all. ⁹ (Sidonians call Hermon Sirion, and the Amorites call it Senir): ¹⁰ All the cities of the plain, and all Gilead, and all Bashan, and Salecah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan were captured.
