Deliver

The Lord your God will give them over to you and throw them into great confusion until they are destroyed.
So the Lord our God also handed over Og king of Bashan and his whole army to us. We struck him until there was no survivor left.

Utterly

Make no

“When you approach a city to fight against it, you must make an offer of peace.
You must not make a covenant with them or their gods.
Be careful not to make a treaty with the inhabitants of the land that you are going to enter; otherwise, they will become a snare among you.
The men answered her, “We will give our lives for yours. If you don’t report our mission, we will show kindness and faithfulness to you when the Lord gives us the land.”

The Gibeonites were not Israelites but rather a remnant of the Amorites. The Israelites had taken an oath concerning them, but Saul had tried to kill them in his zeal for the Israelites and Judah. So David summoned the Gibeonites and spoke to them.
