Deuteronomy 9:6

"Know, therefore, that the LORD your God is not giving you this good land to possess because of your righteousness, for you are a stubborn people.

"Furthermore, the LORD said to me, 'I have seen this people, and behold, it is a stubborn people.

Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no longer stubborn.
